Pipeline Posse Trail Ride #nokxl
The Pipeline Posse is a group that is dedicated to stopping the TransCanada Pipeline from going through Nebraska. On June 22nd they held a trail ride along the proposed pipeline route to spend time with friends and show folks what's at risk if President Obama approved this foreign tarsands pipeline.
Former TransCanada Engineer Turned Whistleblower Evan Vokes
Former TransCanada Corp. employee Evan Vokes' allegations against TransCanada, the Canadian company leading the controversial proposal to send tar sands oil from Alberta to the Gulf Coast via the Keystone XL pipeline, were sobering: a "culture of noncompliance" and "coercion," with "deeply entrenched business practices that ignored legally required regulations and codes" and carries "significant public safety risks."
Today, Vokes said, he sees the same "breaches of construction quality" in portions of TransCanada's Keystone XL already laid in Texas. The advocacy group Public Citizen Texas posted a video highlighting what it says are dents, faulty welds and other anomalies that have been unearthed in recent weeks.

The Pipeline Sign
Barbara Haws is a Brooklynite, but she was raised in Nebraska. The proposed TransCanada Keystone XL pipeline would pass through her home state, and she’s not happy about it. Her cousins — Nebraska farmers — are so unhappy about it that they chained themselves to the White House fence in protest and were promptly arrested. Haws herself chose a simpler form of protest. Barbara Haws is the archivist and historian for the New York Philharmonic. This video was produced by Chris Lee.
